About Me

Bio

Bastiaan van Aarle is a Belgian photographer whose work investigates the intersections of time, space, and light within photography. His practice is characterized by a conceptual approach that often blurs the line between photography and other disciplines, such as sculpture. In his latest project, Moving Mountains, published by Hatje Cantz, Van Aarle examines the fluidity of time through gradual shifts in colour, challenging the viewer’s perception of landscapes and light over time. His work pushes the boundaries of photography by exploring its potential to depict more than just a moment, but an unfolding process.
